Michael B. Stierstorfer, M.D.
Dr. Stierstorfer is the founder of East Penn Dermatology and the IBS Centers for Advanced Food Allergy Testing. He specializes in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Stierstorfer graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Franklin & Marshall College and Alpha Omega Alpha from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and Dermatology residency at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he supervises dermatology residents in training and was awarded a FacultyTeaching Award in 2008. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery, and Philadelphia Dermatological Society. Dr. Stierstorfer pioneered the discovery that hidden food allergies often are the cause of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and offers skin patch testing to pinpoint these allergies at the IBS Centers for Advanced Food Allergy Testing in North Wales and in Center City Philadelphia. He has published in a number of peer-reviewed dermatology journals, is a clinical investigator independently and for the University of Pennsylvania, and a participant in the Major League Baseball Skin Cancer Screening and Awareness Program.
