The Dermatology Group is pleased to offer our patients the patient care services of Shannon Welner , a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) in our practice. Ms. Welner earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Florida and was board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants in 2005 after earning an M.S. from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Ms. Welner is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, The New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants and The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

A PA works under the direction of a physician, handling routine care such as skin cancer examinations, ordering laboratory tests, biopsies, cryotherapy (freezing), wound closures (stitches), and writing prescriptions.
