The Dermatology Group is proud to have Shari Ashton, a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) as a member of our Medical Team. Ms. Ashton has worked as an accountant with a national accounting firm prior to her career as a physician assistant. Prior to this she earned a Masters Degree in Science from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a Bachelors of Science in Accounting with honors at Rutgers University.  Ms. Ashton is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

 

If you have never been treated by a PA before, you may be surprised to see how much they can do. A PA works under the direction of a physician, handling routine care such as skin cancer examinations, ordering laboratory tests, biopsies, cryotherapy (freezing), wound closures (stitches), and writing prescriptions.
